Summer of 2012

I haven't written on here since summer of 2008... though I did post a video in the fall of 2008... still a long time though isn't it?
So a lot has happened since. Let's see... I finally picked a major (Geography with a concentration in GIS), I graduated and... GOT A JOB! A big girl job (Started Nov 2011)! I am now working up in Washington DC. I work for a company (now JVS) that does contract support for the FAA. I do all sorts of random little jobs at work, way too many to name. I will explain more later if I feel like it.

Life Update

Hello Folks

Long time no talk. I have been a little busy, well really busy since its almost a year later since I begun this thing. So here are some updates. I am going to be a sophomore at App State University. The past year was... interesting to say the least. I lost some and won some. I am very glad for my friends. You have no idea have thankful I am of all y'all for being there for me it really truly meant a lot (to those who read this you know who you are). I had an amazing birthday and middle/end of the spring semester. THANK YOU! And since it is still summer I want to tell every one that I am ready to go back to school. Odd I know but college is truly different. The people you meet you will never forget them...ever. So I am having a WONDERFUL summer and miss every one. I wish i could hang out with the girls for forever, while getting an education and making money. I guess that will start very soon. :)  Well I should go and hopefully I will be back soon.

First Semester in College Ever

This is my eye. What am I to see? I think I am to see many new people and wonderful relationships will come from them. What else shall I see.

College is such a weird but wonderful experience. I believe that I have changed but I'm not sure in what way. I suppose I am more self-reliant, and a bit more responsible. I was more of Family person so I thought that I would miss my family immensely. I do miss them but I am not itching to call them up constantly.

This semester has meant that I get to cherish time I spend with my family. I use to take seeing them for granted but now I am excetied whenever I get an email from them. This semester means to me that I am almost done with my first semester ever of my freshman year in college.

I have learned that everyone is still in the highschool minset and we all need to get over it. College is better that High School and you can't go back. Who would want to go back.

I wasn't sure what to expect from college. One think I thought would happen would be having everyone know exactly what they were doing and I would be totally clueless. In actuality all freshman that I know of have as little of a clue as I do.

Let's see what have I enjoyed the most? I have enjoyed the random car trips, the football games where we kill, and chilling with my closest friends we act like maniacs.

What have subjects have I found interesting? I found that I really like media and technology. I am very excited about my Intro to Sight and Sound Class next semester. I also still like math..to an extent. I also have to come to enjoy English. I am still not sure of what I will choose as my major but I do know that it will have to do with science.

At the beggining of the semester I chilled with my friends for forever and a day. We went out of town and even just hung out. We had a blast and I really want to continue to have fun next semester. After all of my fun there are also struggles...drama. We are all still in the highschool scene so we let every little thing break up friend ships. Its hard to be in the middle. I just want
what I had.. what was basically perfect back.

What do I wish for the future? I wish that I find my pasion. I wish that eventually I will get a job that will help others. I wish that I will have an amazing time hanging out with my family and friends forever.

Will I finally get to see this beauty? Or will I find something else?

Foot Binding and Corsets would put me into Hysteria so that I would have to get Breat Implants

So there is a really nifty seeming play called The Waiting Room. Its is about women in the waiting room and it covers concepts like: Foot Binding, corsets, hysteria, and breast implants.

Foot Binding: It just grossed me out. I kept on thinking, wouldn't that hurt like mad? This is how they did the foot Binding process.

"A young girl between the ages four and seven would have her feet bound by the mother and grandmother so that they would not grow anymore, and would sometimes even get smaller. The girl's feet were dipped in animal blood or warm water and cotton or silk bandages were wrapped tightly around the girl's feet. Usually the four smallest toes were broken to help with the process. While binding tightly the girl's grandmother and mother would also break the arch of the foot to have the foot form the golden lotus shape. A three to four inch foot was the ideal size for women in China and it was thought that only poor girls had 'big' normal feet."

The pictures completely did it for me, I truly would never want to do that but if that is your culture and you know no difference I suppose you can't argue.

Corsets: Let's see I would use the fainting couches every time I stood up. Well if I wore it correctly and for the correct amount of time I suppose I would be fine even though it doesn't sound like much fun.

• Lack of abdominal musical
• Floating ribs
• Broken ribs
• Ribs that puncture organs
• Deformation of the stomach
• Deformation of the liver
• The pushing of the uterus out through the vagina
• Reduced ability to breath

All that is what would happen if you wore it for to long of a time or you wore one that was the wrong size.

Hysteria: So hysteria is a weird concept, well the fixing of it is.

"the primary treatment was to undergo pelvic massage,ù wherein a doctor would simulate the patient's genitals until achieving "hysterical paroxysm"ù which is now understood to simply be an orgasm. Eventually doctors grew tired of spending so much time stimulating their patients and began to urge women to purchase newly-developed personal vibrators."

So that would be a really weird experience indeed.

Beast Implants: Lets see it is done nowadays to fix a person that had to undergo surgery to get them removed because of cancer. But every once in a while someone will want to obtain larger breasts. I personally think it depends on the age of the girl, and her body shape and size on how big her breast are, but apparently little breasts are bad.

1890s: Some surgeons began labeling small breasts as “deformed”
1940s: Some doctors began claiming that small-breasted women suffer extreme "neuroses” due to their breast size
1957: The American Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASPRS) named “micromastia” (small breasts) as a medical problem
1983: ASPRS issued a statement about small breasts that read, “There is substantial and enlarging medical knowledge to the effect that these deformities are really a disease which result in teh patient's feelings of inadequacy, lack of self-confidence, distortion of body image, and a total lack of well-being due to a lack of perceived femininity."

So the role of every woman having to have or get big breasts started a long time ago and it wasn't because of cancer.

Women in the Media

We have all seen it. Little girls wanting to be like those models on tv. When overall it really isn't that glamorous. I think that being a female means that one can be naturally beautiful and just themselves not anything that the media might want us to think.

Here are some of my thoughts on being female...

But I do find it hard to be female when everyone one is telling me I should dress up and look pretty all the time. What if I want to just lounge around. I definetly don't want to take a cat nap in a cocktail dress. That what be so uncomfortable...ugg

As a female I am proud of being able to be me. I can do what I choose to do what I please.
As a female I feel limited when I go and do something that is usually for boys. I feel like I can do it but I am not supposed to be doing it.

As a female I feel powerful when I do something that I didn't I could do. I love it when I can accomplish something like that.
